Port Arthur Pipeline – Louisiana Connector Extension
The proposed Port Arthur Pipeline Louisiana Connector (PAPLC) Extension Project will provide an additional feed gas source to transport natural gas to the proposed Port Arthur LNG project.
Location : Calcasieu, Beauregard, Allen, and Evangeline Parishes in Louisiana; traversing though Evangeline, Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, and Cameron Parishes in Louisiana as well as Jefferson County, Texas.
Capacity : 2.5 billion cubic feet per day (Bcfd)
Size : 166 miles-long 48-inch pipeline extension
Proposed Commercial Operation : Q2 2024
The approximately 166 miles-long 48-inch pipeline extension will transport natural gas from the Delhi, Louisiana region to the recently approved Louisiana Connector Pipeline and on to end users along the Texas Gulf coast, including Port Arthur LNG’s approved liquefaction project near Port Arthur, Texas. The PAPLC Extension Project will be owned and operated by Port Arthur Pipeline with a total operating capacity of approximately 2.5 billion cubic feet per day (Bcfd).
The proposed PAPLC Extension Project will include the following facilities:
Port Arthur Pipeline initiated the pre-filing process for the Louisiana Connector Extension with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in June 2019. The Project is expected to submit a FERC application in February 2020. Construction is expected to begin in Q2 2021, with commercial operations expected in Q2 2024.
Development of the Port Arthur Liquefaction Project and associated pipelines is contingent upon obtaining binding customer commitments, completing the required commercial agreements, securing all necessary permits, obtaining financing, other factors, and reaching final investment decisions.
