Bob Jackson

Robert C. Jackson is program director, Port Arthur LNG for Sempra LNG, which leads Sempra Energy’s efforts to develop, build and operate liquefied natural gas receiving terminals.

In his current position, Jackson is responsible for the design, construction and initial start-up of the Port Arthur LNG facility located in Port Arthur, Texas.  An $800 million to $1.4 billion investment, the Port Arthur LNG project is anticipated to begin commercial operation in two phases between 2010-2016 and will be capable of delivering between 1.5 to 3 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas per day.

Previously, Jackson served as project director for Sempra Generation, which most recently carried out the successful development, design, construction, start-up and commercial operation of Sempra Generation’s $470 million, gas fired 550 Megawatt Palomar Energy power generation facility located in Escondido, California.  Jackson joined Sempra Energy in April 1999.

Jackson has over 30 years of senior management experience in the development, design, construction and start-up of large capital equipment projects including lumber mills and coal and gas fired power plants. He has served in president/CEO positions at several engineering, manufacturing and construction companies, including Joy Technologies, Inc., Asea Brown Boveri, Lumber Systems Inc., Timberline Erectors, Reed International and Jackson Industries, Inc.

Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.
