Committed to environmental stewardship

As part of a company that is dedicated to the environment, Cameron LNG is committed to the protection and conservation of natural resources.

Special controls and barriers are used to help protect existing wetlands during construction.

Before a project like this can break ground, employees spend countless hours over several years working to acquire all necessary environmental permits from federal, state and local agencies. These permits take into account several factors such as the protection of wetland and open water resources.

Protecting southwest Louisiana's resources requires a commitment from every employee and contractor on site. All project staff are required to undergo site-specific environmental training. In addition to training, Cameron LNG has implemented special controls and barriers like silt fences and hay bails during construction that will help provide additional protection for existing wetlands and aquatic life.

The results of this team effort have been received very positively during bimonthly inspections from representatives at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. In mid-July, Cameron LNG passed its sixth consecutive environmental inspection.
