Hurricane Rita's devastation left no safe area for the children of Cameron
Parish's east side to gather and play. In late February, work was completed
on a new playground adjacent to the Cameron Library. Now, the Cameron Library's
community park will provide that fun and safe play area.
"We've been working with the Cameron Library for the last six months on this project and it is exciting to see this park and playground open," says Kelly Prasser, Sempra Energy's regional manager of Corporate & Community Relations. Roof raised at Cameron LNG
On March 6, the roof of Cameron LNG's Tank 203 - the tank closest to Highway 27 - was lifted and secured. "This is a significant milestone for the project," says Joe Risse, Cameron LNG program manager.
The process involved lifting the pre-assembled, 550-ton, 254-foot-diameter roof structure 118 feet on a cushion of air at the rate of about 6 inches per minute. Fans outside the tank helped get the job done...

Cameron LNG construction workers recently reached the enviable goal of 1 million construction hours worked without a lost-time accident - a milestone few projects ever reach.
