Building for the Future
Fall 2007
Cameron LNG construction update
The operations team, led by plant manager Randy Oakley, is looking forward to the completion of the permanent administration building scheduled for March 2008. In the meantime, Oakley has added more temporary buildings to accommodate the growing long term operations and maintenance staff and the upcoming training sessions.
Construction continues to move at a steady pace maintaining management's target of a late 2008 completion date. The project is almost 65 percent complete.
Along with the construction progress, site visitors should soon notice that access to the site will be relocated to the north. This will allow for construction on the berm system around the LNG storage tanks. With a continued focus on safety, Cameron LNG construction site manager, Alan Zachary advises Highway 27 travelers to observe all caution signs near the site due to the traffic flow in and out of the construction area.
Cameron LNG celebrates safety milestone
The Cameron LNG construction team recently marked another industry safety milestone with the completion of 1.5 million construction hours worked without a lost-time incident, a significant achievement with an average of 560 people working onsite each day.
“In addition to keeping the project on schedule, these workers and contractors are clearly putting safety first,” said Zachary.
Along with Aker|Kvaener, Cameron LNG honored the team with a celebration lunch in late August and acknowledged those workers who demonstrated superior safety awareness.
