Cameron LNG cleans up at Annual Trash Bash

Cameron LNG team
The Cameron LNG team get their hands dirty to help pick up trash at the Annual Fall Trash Bash held November 4 in Hackberry.

The Cameron LNG project team, along with its construction vendor AK|IHI and subcontractors rolled up their sleeves and lent their hands to help clean up Hackberry at the Annual Fall Trash Bash.  Although it’s been over a year since Hurricane Rita devastated the area, trash and debris continue to plague the community.  Organizers of the event estimated that more than 100 citizens picked up trash along Highway 27.

Making a Difference in the Community
“I was greatly impressed by the participation we had from the team at Cameron LNG,” said Steve Trahan, Cameron Parish Police Juror.  “Out of all the participants, I’d say Cameron LNG represented 15 or 20 percent of our volunteers.  They are a wonderful bunch of people.”

In addition, Cameron LNG worked with the Hackberry Boy Scout troop to help clean up the area around the Hackberry Community Center and to distribute food to all the event volunteers.  Event organizers said that this event was so successful that they will be coordinating another community clean-up next year in the spring.
