Joseph P. Risse is program director, Cameron LNG for Sempra LNG, which leads Sempra Energy's efforts to develop, build and operate liquefied natural gas receiving terminals.

In his current position, Joe Risse is responsible for all aspects of the development of Cameron LNG in Hackberry, Louisiana. The $750 million project will have the capacity to process up to 1.5 billion cubic feet (bcf) per day of natural gas when it begins commercial operation in 2008.

Previously, Risse served as the project director for Elk Hills Power, a 550-megawatt power plant jointly owned by Sempra Energy Resources and a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum, Inc.

Risse has 25 years of experience in project and program management of large domestic and international power and industrial projects. He served as a project director for Foster Wheeler Energy International, managing power projects in Poland, China and the United States.

Risse holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York and a master's degree in engineering management from West Coast University.
