Environment Sempra Energy takes actions to protect the environment. When Energía Costa Azul began construction on its liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal near Ensenada, Mexico, for instance, we temporarily moved more than 5,000 ferrocactus plants and other indiginous species. We placed them in a nursery onsite before we began construction. Because of our commitment to preserving the environment, we will carefully replant them back to the original landscape when the receipt terminal is complete. We also help others to understand the importance of protecting the environment. We are the international sponsors of Ocean Oasis, the IMAX film about conserving Mexico's Sea of Cortez. Sempra Energy's safety and environmental record is excellent.
