Sempra Energy is a Fortune 500 energy services company with 2007 revenues of more than $11 billion. Sempra Energy serves the largest customer base of any energy utility in the United States. It operates the nation's largest natural gas distribution utility, Southern California Gas Company, which serves a population of 19.8 million through 5.6 million natural gas meters. Another Sempra Energy utility, San Diego Gas & Electric, serves 3.4 million consumers through 1.3 million electric meters and more than 825,000 natural gas meters.
